Aug 15 - 20 The adventure begins....
Last Waltz finally slipped it's moorings on Wed 15 Aug @ 0600 hrs! The chores leading up to departure seemed to grow instead of diminish, however perseverance paid off & overloaded we headed east.

Windlass installation - start... note the tidy deck!

Windlass installation... note Bob in hole!
We were now power boaters....UGHHHhhhhh

First stop was Collin's Bay to pick up back ordered parts, and avail ourselves of a free night via recipricol agreement with Collin's Bay YC.
The weather was favourable for a motor across the lake with mast on deck, so another early departure.
An uneventful crossing, Customs check-in, & we were ashore in 'swego (Oswego to everyone but the locals).
Spent Friday attempting to activate our Tracfone to no avail!!!! After much consternation, several blue streaks & a  successful cab ride to Walmart we secured a new working phone courtesy of AT&T.
The Tracfone is now laying somewhere at the bottom of the Oswego canal between locks 7 & 8.
Met our first international cruisers, Dennis & Aneke from the Netherlands S/V Body Gaurd, a beautiful 42' steel vessel built by Dennis over several years.  They sailed across the Atlantic 2 years ago & have wintered in the south, now plan to move north, stow the boat & sail the St Lawrence, east coat of Canada & the US before heading south again.

We met a tug boat Captian, from Toronto who together with his family & crew own catamarans which they sail out of Guatemala each winter. He advised us to precede him into the lock, since he would require the whole lock with his cargo...

After a couple of days relaxing, visiting with hockey friend Brit @ Giby's, touring Fort Ontario, taking in dinner @ La Parrilla (highly recommend!) we headed into the locks.

A nice travel day with little traffic, found us stopped at Brewerton for a free dock & a library 500 feet from the boat with internet access. We are heading across Lake Onieda tomorrow, with plans to travel slow & enjoy all that New York has to offer.
Until next wifi....the adventure continues...

We are still waiting the arrival of our new windlass, fingers crossed it arrives in time.
